Google…what a funny word! Did you know that according to Google, it is a made-up word that comes from "googol, a mathematical term for the number represented by the numeral 1 followed by 100 zeros." Let's explore what Google is, and how we can use all that it has to offer!

"Google" is not only a noun (person, place or thing), but it is a verb (action word).

You can GOOGLE something, which means you can type any question you want into google.com and it will give you an answer. You can type any word into google.com and see an image of it. You can find out how to drive to any location on earth. Google is AMAZING!

Google started as just a way to search things on the Internet. It was invented by two guys who wanted one place where you could organize information online. Google started to grow to include email and document sharing, and now its so much more!

This lesson will explore the basics of Google and how you can use it.

Let's start with some typing practice! Go to Dance Mat Typing for a fun, interactive typing game from KidzType to help you with your skills. Spend 15-20 minutes on this website daily and you will be an expert typist before you know it!
