Why do you think the author chose to use Latin and Greek roots as a basis for her spells?

In the last three Related Lessons, found in the right-hand sidebar, you were introduced to root words. In this lesson, you will explore more roots and their meanings.

Watch the following Greek & Latin Roots: Micro, Mill, Mort, Multi video to learn more root words. This will help you understand the meanings of the words based on the root of the word.

Make a list of the words in this video so you can use them in an activity later on in this lesson:

Were you familiar with these root words from science or math class? If you were unfamiliar with the roots, how will this help you with your reading in math class?

Add the root words introduced in the video to your index cards. On the front of the card, write the root word and draw a picture that represents the meaning of the root word. On the back of the index card, write the definition and an example.
