Imagine all the cool things you could buy! But first, see what’s inside your piggy bank.

  • Do you have pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters clinking around in there?

Maybe you’re saving for something special, like a new toy or a fun day out!

Counting money isn’t just about numbers—it’s about knowing what you can do with what you’ve saved!

Get started counting money!

Keeping track of the coins in your piggy bank is a big deal!

Your piggy bank helps you save for something special and lets you know how much you’re spending.

  • Are you ready to practice adding and subtracting money — like in real life?

Dive in and start counting!

Imagine you have two shiny quarters in your piggy bank.

  • How much money do you have?

Each quarter is worth 25¢. T

25¢ + 25¢ = 50¢

That’s 50¢ already saved!

You just found 35¢ in the grass and 25¢ on the sidewalk!

  • How much did you find in total?

When adding money, it’s just like adding regular numbers. Line up your digits and add them up!

You found 60¢! Wow!

Now, try a bigger amount.

You found 60¢ in your pocket and 85¢ in your room.

  • How much do you have now?

Use the same steps to solve 60¢ + 85¢.

Fantastic! You found 145¢. That's the same as $1.45.

  • What happens if you lose some money?

You went outside to walk the dog. You started your walk with 54¢ in your pocket, but oh no—there’s a hole in your pocket! You dropped 25¢.

  • How much is left?

When you subtract, line up the digits and subtract like when adding numbers.

Oops! But you still have 29¢ left.

Take it up a notch!

Remember to line up your digits and add.

Add up your money. Remember to line up your digits vertically and ensure the place values line up.
