First, brainstorm and answer some very important questions.

Answer the five W's to help you think about and remember your favorite summer memory. The five W's are Who, What, When, Where, and Why.

Start with the first W — Who!

  • Who was in your favorite summer memory?

You, of course!

  • Was anyone else in your favorite summer memory?

Use a pencil and write it down on a piece of paper.

The following W is What.

  • What was your favorite memory?
  • What happened in the memory?

Write this down on your paper, too.

The following W is Where.

  • Where did your favorite memory take place?
  • Was it at the beach, the pool, or the park?
  • Was it at home in the backyard?

Again, write it on a piece of paper.

The next W is When.

  • When did your favorite memory take place?
  • Did it happen during June, July, or August?
  • Was it on a weekend or during the week?

Do your best to remember and write it on a piece of paper.

The last W is Why.

  • Why is this your favorite summer memory?
  • How did you feel during this favorite summer memory?
  • Were you happy or excited?

Try to remember and write it down on your paper.
