Did you remember that a preposition is a part of speech that tells you about the location, direction, or time that affects a person, place, or thing? In this lesson, you will review everything you learned about prepositions that relate to location, direction, and time.

All of the prepositions you reviewed can be used to describe the location of people, places, and things. You will look at examples of a prepositions being used in sentences. The prepositions will be bolded. Read the sentences below aloud to your parent or teacher:

The dog is next to the other dog.
The party hat is on top of the dog's head.
The dogs are behind the cake.
The cake is on the table.
