The company founders made it up based on the mathematical term googol, which means the number 1 followed by 100 zeros.
That is such a large number; that it is nearly impossible to understand. For example, there are over a billion websites on the internet, which is only the number 1 followed by nine zeros.
Today, we use the term google to search for something online, but the company Google does so much more!

You can google anything!
You can type a question, phrase, or even a word into the Google search bar and discover all the online resources about it. You can ask for directions or to see a map. You can find videos, images, and even memes!
Google is AMAZING!
Google started as a way to search things online. It was invented by two guys who wanted one place where you could organize information online. Google started to grow to include email and document sharing, and now it's so much more!
