In the previous Related Lesson, found in the right-hand sidebar, you developed your background knowledge of The Iroquois Indian tribes to help you draw more meaning from reading the book, The Indian in the Cupboard.

To help organize your materials for this lesson series, you will need a folder to store all your materials, sticky notes, and a copy of The Indian in the Cupboard by Lynne Reid Banks.

Good readers use background knowledge to make predictions before they read.
