Lucy went on quite an adventure in the first two chapters of The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe.

Thankfully, Mr. Tumnus, a faun Lucy met in Narnia, assists Lucy in returning home through the wardrobe despite the risk of upsetting the White Witch.

In this novel, you will be introduced to many mythological creatures. You have already met Mr. Tumnus, a faun. A faun has a man's upper body with the legs of a goat. Have you seen a faun in a movie before? If so, tell your teacher or parent about the character.

If you have not, use a search engine to look at an image of a faun. On your lapbook (that you created in the first Related Lessons of the series, found in the right-hand sidebar), you will open the first page of your mythological creature foldable and label the page "Faun." Add a picture and a brief description of the faun, following this outline:

• name of creature in the center
• drawing of creature in upper left
• brief history in upper right
• character and role creature plays in the novel in lower right
• your idea of why this creature is used in lower right

Share your description and picture with your parent or teacher. If you need more space for this activity, use a separate sheet of paper.
