Have you ever read a biography? If you have read a story about someone's life, you have read a biography! Reading about other people teaches you about history and character traits, things that make people great. Let's learn about Abraham Lincoln!
Ready to learn about biographies?
First, make a list of what you think a biography is and what it includes. Here are some ideas:
- A biography is about a real person.
- It includes facts about the person.
- It is a true story.
What questions do you think a biography will answer? Here are some suggestions:
- Why is this person important?
- Where did he or she live?
- Is he or she famous?
- Why is this person famous?
- When was this person born?

Download and print the K-2 Biography Graphic Organizer from Downloadable Resources in the right-hand sidebar. After reading, fill in each box by answering the question in each box:
- Where and when did this person live?
- Why is this person famous and important?
Now, put the information from the graphic organizer into sentences on the second page, and draw a picture of Abraham Lincoln.
