So, what made the 20s roar?

This music helps you get a feel for the decade — it was big, fun, and full of dancing.

The 1920s in the United States are referred to as the Roaring 20s. It was right after World War I, and people bought all the new manufactured goods made through the Industrial Revolution.

People were roaring with new fashion trends, big cars, and the new music called jazz, and they enjoyed the new forms of entertainment, notably the first movie theaters.

The Roaring 20s ended tragically with the 1929 Stock Market crash. Many luxurious purchases people made were made on credit, which they discovered was not good for the economy.

The Roaring 20s led to the Great Depression of the 1930s and early 40s.
