How can you count up by sets of twos?

If you ever have a collection of objects that are in groups of twos, there is a special way to count them.

This is called skip counting! You can skip count with any number. When you skip count with a number, you count up by that number. This lesson is all about skip counting by twos.

Any time you skip count by twos, each number you will count will be an even number. Read the numbers listed below aloud with your parent or teacher:

2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20

You just counted by twos! Did you notice how all the numbers were even? Any number that ends with two, four, six, eight, or zero is an even number.

You had fun counting along by twos! You will practice counting by twos by playing ABCya L.L.C.'s game, Adventure Man and the Counting Quest. Follow these directions to play the game:

  1. After starting the game, select the gold button "2's" when choosing where to start.
  2. Start with Level One.
  3. Play until you complete Levels One through Three.
  4. For an extra challenge, try to skip count to one hundred in the game!
