Have you ever made plans, then had to change them because of the weather? How did it make you feel?
In Chapter 4, Wilbur feels disappointment because his plans had to change because of the rain.

In the last Related Lesson, found in the right-hand sidebar, you explored the role friendship played between the characters, Fern and Wilbur. Tell your parent or teacher the most important thing you remember from the last lesson.
Now, print the Charlotte's Web Chapter Summary found in Downloadable Resources in the right-hand sidebar. Add this to Page 10 of your notebook, and don't forget to add the title and page number to the Table of Contents in the beginning of your notebook. Complete the chapter summary for Chapters 1 to 3. You can use this outline to help you write a summary:

Follow the directions on the page to assemble the vocabulary page. Glue the page into your Charlotte's Web notebook on Page 11 and add it to the Table of Contents page in the beginning of the notebook. Use a dictionary or an online dictionary like Dictionary.com to look up the meaning of each word. Write the definition under the flap that matches each word. Understanding the meaning of unfamiliar words will help you better understand the story as you read.
