As you saw, Microsoft Excel is very similar to Microsoft Word.

They have a lot of likenesses, but they are two completely different programs that are used for different reasons. They are alike because they are made by the same company, so a number of the basic features and functions are the same, such as how you print and save.

In this lesson, and the three that follow, you are going to explore Excel and create your own spreadsheet.
