Have you ever dreamed of becoming president of the United States? It's the most important job in the world, and one that only a few people are qualified to do. In this lesson, you will find out if you are qualified to be the president of the United States of America!

The American presidency is a job to which many aspire, yet only a select few have held it and will ever hold it.

Article 2, Section 1 of the Constitution outlines the requirements for becoming president of the United States. All American presidents must share the same three qualifications. Read Article 2, Section 1 of The Constitution of the United States: A Transcription from the National Archives and identity the three presidential requirements.

All people interested in becoming president must be a natural-born citizen of the United States, at least 35 years old, and have lived in the United States for at least 14 years.
