This picture was taken at a time in history called the Great Depression. The Great Depression was a time in America's history when the economy (our money system) was very bad. People didn't have money and they could not find jobs. People were very poor and had little money for food. How would you feel about having to miss a meal or not getting food for a whole day? It was a sad time in our history! Today you are going to explore the time of the Great Depression and learn what the life of a child was like back then.
